NON-FICTION PROJECT IN VARANASI (INDIA)
SUN (19´) 2025
MANIKARNIKÀ (70') WORK IN PROGRESS 2026

Daroga is a Dom, one of the lowest castes in India. He works in the public crematoriums of Manikarnika, in Varanasi. He hates his job but is trapped by the country's caste system and doubts a religion and society that imprisons him without allowing him to prosper in life. Through Daroga's eyes, DOM brings us a critical journey into the religious interweaving of death, reincarnation and Hindu spiritual liberation in a Varanasi packed with pilgrims in the middle of the monsoon season. Dom is a co-production between Eivissa Cinema and Xavi Herrero Films with the support of Ibizacinefest.
