kITAB

Ouadane and Chinguetti boast the oldest and most valuable libraries in Mauritania and the Arab world, of incalculable heritage and cultural value. Some of their books, older than the Quran itself, may contain secrets linking Atlantis to the Richat structure near Ouadane.

Baba and Yoshef are two Nouakchott hustlers tasked with collecting wooden scrolls that provide information about Atlantis in order to locate archaeological remains in the Richat. The librarians are offended by the mere prospect of an attempt to buy their cultural heritage, passed down from generation to generation, and decide to draft a collective manifesto to prevent such situations in the future.

Meanwhile, Zaida, an expert local guide from the area, hired by foreign expeditions in search of archaeological remains, and a former member of Théodore Monod's expedition, brings us closer to the mysterious Richat structure, considered by many to be the geological remains of Atlantis.

"Even if I were offered all the money in the world, I wouldn't sell even the smallest part of our cultural heritage. It's priceless. It's our inheritance."

KITAB POSTER-XAVI HERRERO FILMS

"The Richat is the geological remnant of Atlantis. They are similar in location, shape, and size."
