Photographers and visual artists from around the world are invited to submit their projects to the IPFA 2025 Award by December 22. Organized by the International Photography Festivals Association (IPFA), this international call for entries offers artists the opportunity to have their work evaluated simultaneously by curators from 20 photography festivals across five continents, multiplying their chances of being selected and gaining international exposure.

The International Photography Festivals Association (IPFA) invites photographers and artists from around the world to participate in the IPFA Award. This call for entries goes beyond a traditional prize; it is an international platform to explore, share, and transform contemporary photography, connecting photographers with festivals, curators, and audiences worldwide.
Your work will have the opportunity to be seen by directors and curators of photography festivals worldwide, expanding your visibility and international reach. With a single submission, your project will be evaluated by 20 international curators. You could be selected for a solo exhibition at a participating festival or be part of a group exhibition that will open on March 19, 2026, in Barcelona and subsequently travel to various festivals.
From this call for entries, 20 winning photographers will be selected to present a solo exhibition at one of the participating festivals during 2026 or 2027, with production support provided by IPFA. In addition, 50 finalists will be chosen to participate in a traveling group exhibition, which will premiere on March 19, 2026, at Sala Golfes, IPFA's exhibition space in Barcelona, before touring the international network of member festivals.

All submitted portfolios will be evaluated by the directors and curators of the 20 participating festivals. Bringing together experiences ranging from documentary, landscape, and street photography to conceptual and experimental works, this jury reflects the diversity of contemporary photographic practices and enriches the selection with multiple curatorial perspectives.
The participating festivals are : Le vie delle Foto (Italy); Colombia Foto Fest (Colombia); Fotofestival Pelt (Belgium); Street Photography Barcelona Festival (Spain); Tomar la Calle (Mexico); Les Boutographies (France); Experimental Photo Festival (Spain); Argentine Biennial of Documentary Photography (Argentina); Belgrade Photo Month (Serbia); Abuja Photo Festival (Nigeria); Budapest Photo Festival (Hungary); Paranapiacaba Photography Festival (Brazil); São Paulo Photography Festival (Brazil); FOKUS – International Fokus Awards (Albania); Photoworks Festival (Poland); PhotoNOLA (USA); Photometria (Greece); Humanisme Vision (France); Ioana Cobzaru (Independent Curator); MontPhoto (Spain); yf/Stop – Leipzig Photography Festival (Germany).
Topics and selection criteria:
The IPFA Award accepts projects on any theme, encouraging photographers to submit work that reflects their creativity, personal vision, and artistic commitment. Participants may submit more than one project, including those that explore different themes, techniques, and approaches. Submissions will be evaluated based on originality, narrative strength, visual coherence, innovation, and potential for international exposure, as well as technical quality and ability to connect with audiences. The jury will also consider diversity of backgrounds, gender balance, and the representation of diverse photographic themes. This process ensures equal opportunities for artists of all styles, genres, and stages of their careers.

What the winners receive:
The 20 selected artists will receive a solo exhibition at the member festival of their choice, supported by €200 from IPFA, in addition to resources offered by the host festival. They will also receive a 50% discount to participate in the Portfolio Review during the 2nd International Meeting of Photography Festivals 2026, as well as free access to the IPFA Online Conferences 2026. Each selected artist will be officially recognized with a certificate, included in the IPFA Photographers Repository, and promoted through all IPFA and member festival communication channels. This visibility will be further enhanced by a dedicated video showcasing the selected artists and the results of the call for entries.
In addition, 50 finalists will be selected to participate in a traveling group exhibition, opening on March 19, 2026, at Sala Golfes in Barcelona, and subsequently touring other IPFA member festivals. Finalists will receive a 30% discount on participation in the Portfolio Review during the 2nd International Meeting of Photography Festivals 2026, as well as free access to the IPFA Online Conferences. They will receive official recognition and a certificate as Selected Artists and, like the winners, will be included in the IPFA Photographers Repository and promoted through IPFA and partner festival communication channels. Their work will also be featured in a special video for this edition. This traveling exhibition guarantees continued international visibility and exposure throughout 2026 and 2027.
